Prayer of a Sick Person

Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, You became man and died on the cross for our salvation. You healed people of sickness and affliction through Your love and compassion.

Visit me, Lord and grant me strength to bear this sickness with which I am afflicted, with patience, submission to Your will and trust in Your loving care.

I pray that You will bless the means used for my recovery and those who administer them.

Grant that my sickness may be to my spiritual benefit and that I may live the rest of my life more faithfully according to Your will. For You are the source of life and healing and to You I give praise and glory, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen

For Persons Suffering with Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia

Defend the lowly and fatherless; render justice to the afflicted and needy. Rescue the lowly and poor; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. JOHN 10:14-15

Loving God, Healer and Comforter, we pray for those who suffer from the anxiety, ambiguity and confusion of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

Look with mercy upon their distress, confusion or isolation. Shelter them where dignity and peace abound. Grant them understanding helpers and the willingness to accept help.

In the face of loss of memory and control, increase their confidence in your love and strengthen their care-givers. As the Good Shepherd, tend to the sick, rest the weary, pity the afflicted, soothe the suffering and bless the dying.

We make this supplication through the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, in the name of your Son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

St. Nektarios of Aegina

Message of Hope

“Miracles are not impossible from a logical standpoint, and right reason does not deny them. Natural laws do not have the claim to be the only ones, nor are they threatened with being overturned by the appearance of other laws, supernatural ones, which also are conducive to the development and furtherance of creation… Miracles are a consequence of the Creator’s love for his creatures.”

St. Nektarios served as a confessor and spiritual guide. His Holy and pious life shone forth like a guiding light to all near him. Many would come to him for healing. Saint Nektarios was a great Wonderworker even while alive.
